Da Xiao Ji - Sun Ten
Uses: Excessive Bleeding, Abscesses and Swelling. Da Xiao Ji (Cirsium, Japanese Thistle) is an individual herb often used on its own or in conjunction with other formulas for bleeding and swelling, often acute, such as uterine bleeding, heavy menstrual bleeding, nosebleeds, blood in the stool. It also resolves blood stasis in Chinese Medicine terms which can be issues such as intestinal and/or lung abscesses.
Some research has shown benefit for pancreatic cell damage. May also be used for jaundice, hypertension or tuberculosis with the right underlying factors.
Please note: This product should not be used if you are pregnant – it should also be avoided or used with caution in people with signs of spleen deficiency, particularly with loose stools. This product is 100 grams of powdered cirsium generally taken mixed with hot water.
General Dosage: 1 gram, 1-2 times a day. At full dose, one bottle renders a 50 day supply.
Caution: Do not use if the bleeding is accompanied with strong heat signs in the body. (100 grams cirsium granules)
