Jian Pi Wan
Uses: Chronic Indigestion, Food Stagnation, Diarrhea. Jian Pi Wan (Jian Pi Pian or the “Strengthen the Spleen Pill”), is a commonly used formula for a range of digestive issues that arise from a weaker digestive system (or “weak spleen” in Chinese Medicine terms).
May be used for poor appetite, particularly when it arises with indigestion, chronic indigestion generally, bloating, looser stools and/or diarrhea. May also be used in early pregnancy for weakness and potential miscarriage.*
Recommended Dosage: This formula is generally available in “pian” or “tablets” – dosage would be 3 to 5 tablets 2-3x/day.
Ingredients: Atractylodes (White) Rhizome (Bai Zhu), Costus Root (Mu Xiang), Coptis Rhizome (Huang Lian), Licorice Root (Gan Cao), Poria, China Root (Fu Ling), Codonopsis Root (Dang Shen), Medicated Leaven (Shen Qu), Tangerine Peel (Chen Pi), Cardamon (Sha Ren), Barley Sprout, Malt (Mai Ya), Hawthorn Fruit (Shan Zha), Chinese Yam (Shan Yao), Nutmeg Seeds (Rou Dou Kou), Immature Bitter Orange (Zhi Shi).
