Uses: Epigastric Pain, GI Issues, Type II Diabetes, Dry Cough. Sha Shen Mai Dong Wan (Sha Shen Mai Dong Tang, Adenophora and Ophiopogon Combination) literally means “Glehnia and Ophiopogonis Decoction” and is used to nourish the yin of the stomach and lung systems in Chinese Medicine terms. Lung yin symptoms might include chronic dry cough, dry throat, wheezing, asthma and with appropriate signs serious issues like pneumonia or lung cancer. Stomach yin signs include a range of gastrointestinal issues – reflux, epigastric pain, damage from alcohol, and more advanced conditions such as diabetes.
